House E

Summer residence in Istria
Completed 2017-2021
Weyell Zipse with Lisa Euler and Aleksandar Ćelović

Situated at the tip of the istrian peninsula, this vacation home thematizes the relation between the house and its surrounding. Pine trees, laurel, salvia and rosemary, the typical local vegetation, built up the scenery for the single-story building. The house is sitting on a a staged terrace, that is following topography. It is lying in this semi natural, semi artificial garden and draws up a clear border between nature and built environment. The living area is oriented towards the garden. Two big openings with sliding doors extend the space to the terrace and create divers visual connections in between the living area and the garden. In contrast to this the bedrooms are organised as two introverted and separate units.
